I’ve spent my career writing, selling, and helping brokers monetize their investment research. When generative AI took off, it was immediately clear that a sufficiently accurate and ‘context maintaining’ agentic tool would make research and data even more powerful. It was also equally clear that it would have to be the kind of tool that can capture the nuanced thinking that the research industry pours its time and money into creating, without hallucinating or misrepresenting anything.
Enter Hebbia…I'd been researching this market from a competition perspective for several months when a colleague introduced me to Hebbia. By re-architecting the search process, Hebbia can reason over financial documents at scale to consistently deliver more accurate analysis. This puts them in a unique position to surface the full views of sell-side analysts, the richness and nuance of expert interview transcripts, and to reliably surface data points from myriad numeric data sets. What used to take professionals hours of manual reading, tagging, sorting and cleaning, can now happen in seconds.
Hebbia is exactly the solution the industry needs. Content producers can rest assured that their work is being accurately represented, in its full context. Even though I was totally sold on the capabilities and future of the product, I was in a great employment position, with a boss and team that I loved, so was skeptical about jumping to another company. The product alone wasn't enough.
That changed when I met the team. The leadership team was tremendously generous with their time, and I got to interview all of them. They showed me how they think, how they build, and how they win. Ultimately, they convinced me Hebbia had both the best product and the people to execute on this massive opportunity.
But my excitement goes beyond Hebbia itself. While so much of what you read about AI is negative, there's a bright spot here. As AI adoption accelerates in financial markets, there will be fresh opportunities for new content partnership structures, ones in which market participants, technology companies, and research providers all win. Economic alignment, content control, and regulatory cover can all be baked in from the outset. Everyone wins.
I'm thrilled to be at Hebbia to help build that future.
